AJ and I drove out to Kiawah last night to meet Poppy Suarez and her adorable family. We had a blast hanging out on the beach. They have lived all over the world and home right now is Dallas. I hope I have the chance to see them again if I can get there to visit Nita as well! It is awesome to have friends all over the country!

In between raindrops I took photos of the Patterson’s last night on Sullivan’s Island. They have the nicest children and even though we had a rather quick session they got some great photos!

ATTENTION all my wedding clients! This one’s for you. I have never done a contest like this before so to be fair I am opening it up to all my wedding couples, not just 2008!
TO ENTER:
All you have to do to enter is to send me your favorite image. If you don’t have time to pick one and would like to participate, just send me an email and let me know and I will pick one for you.
RULES:
On August 2nd I will post one favorite image of each client who wishes to enter the contest. Visitors to my blog will be able to vote on their favorite image. You are allowed and encouraged to send all of your family and friends to the blog to vote for your image. One vote per email address so make sure you tell everyone you know to log on and vote!
The image with the most votes will be determined on August 9th.

Palmer Home
THE PALMER HOME PHOTOS AND A BIT OF HISTORY
The Palmer Home is located at 5 East Battery at the end of the Charleston penninsula. Construction began in 1847 and the house was completed two years later. The original owners were the Ravenel’s and this property stayed in the family until 1953 when Dr. Joe Sam Palmer, Sr. purchased and restored the house.
Francess Palmer, Dr. Joe Sam Palmer’s daughter, now owns and lives on the first floor of the house. I am honored to call Francess a friend. You wll love meeting her and make sure you ask her about the book she is holding. There is a story in the book about a locket that you must read!
I love the eclectic style of this house. It combines black marble mantels in the Gothic Revival style, wide woodwork with Greek Revival acanthus decorations and plaster ceiling medalians and room cornices. Francess has worked hard to keep as many original fixtures in the house as possible which adds to its history and charm.
The staircase is gorgeous with it’s cantilevered steps, beautiful wood carvings along the mahogany banisters and black Cypress paneling.
The Drawing Room is where everyone would gather for formal entertaining. The ceilings are 14 feet high and the walls are 32 inches thick! The chandelier is original to the house and the Levistan Kerman rug is over 100 years old. It is the most valuable piece in the house, hand woven by women and children in Persia. It is considered a holy rug because it has been blessed.
The house was wired for electicity before the White House and was the first house in the city to Charleston to be wired for electicity.
This is the Withdrawing Room. The fireplace in this room is only one of 10 throughtout the house and is made of Black-African marble with strada of gold.
The views from the Palmer Home are breathtaking. The piazza’s offer a place to rest, read, have a cocktail and gaze out into the Charleston Harbor.
Can’t you just imagine yourself sitting there?
Brides love the suite upstairs. It is the perfect spot to “get ready” in and the ajacent room is at the back of the house which is very quiet!
There are 15 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms and 18,000 square feet of space in the house. I have only shown you just a few of the wonderful rooms here.
